Explain the life you want.
Not just a list of labels.
Useful marriage preferences help another person understand everyday life with you. Be clear about what is essential, what is flexible and what needs a conversation.
Private profile. Free at present. No card needed.
Faith, denomination and maslak
You may describe a Muslim maslak, a Christian denomination, Hindu or Sikh practice, Jewish observance, another faith or a non-religious worldview in your own words. We do not infer belief from a name, appearance, nationality or family background.
Explain whether sharing that identity is essential to you. Then describe the practical expectations behind it: worship, observance, diet, festivals, family involvement or how you hope to raise children. A label alone cannot answer these questions.
MutualVow considers self-described preferences; it does not certify religious identity or decide theological questions. We cannot promise candidates in every faith or community.
Essential, flexible or still to discuss?
- Essential
- A requirement without which the marriage would not work for you. Example: “I need to remain in my current city because I provide regular care for a parent.”
- Flexible
- A preference you would reconsider with the right person. Example: “I prefer someone nearby, but would discuss a move within the country.”
- Needs a conversation
- Something you cannot answer honestly yet. Example: “I am open to a partner with children and would want to understand what family life would involve.”
These are example answers, not member profiles. Your own answers should reflect your actual situation.
Questions beyond religion
- Children: do you want children, and are you open to a partner who already has them?
- Home: where could you genuinely live, and what would prevent a move?
- Work: how do hours, career plans or travel affect your availability?
- Family: which responsibilities and boundaries would a partner need to understand?
- Daily life: how do smoking, alcohol, social habits and private time fit into your expectations?
- Timing: when would you be ready to build a relationship towards marriage?
Where to put this in your application
Use “Faith or worldview” for your own description and “Faith or worldview preference” for what you hope for in a partner. Put non-negotiable requirements in “Your essential life preferences”, and possibilities in “Where are you open-minded?”. Your biography should explain the person behind those answers.
Keep your information accurate, and use recent photos that reflect your everyday appearance. Do not use another person’s private profile as an example or copy their details into your answers. Optional answers can remain blank. Describe your needs respectfully; a preference is not a judgment of another community. If something changes after submission, email hello@mutualvow.com so the team can help update your application.
Why precise preferences can mean waiting
Every introduction needs to make sense for both people. A specific combination of location, faith, age, children and readiness can narrow the available pool. We do not silently broaden an essential requirement to manufacture a match. Clear answers help consideration, but cannot guarantee a person or deadline.
Before you apply
Faith and worldview answers are optional. Share only what helps us understand your own preferences; do not include someone else’s private information.
For adults 18+. Free at present. One private application, with 1–3 recent photos.
